Advanced compounds deliver superior performance

Utilising state-of-the-art facilities, unmatched material knowledge and a scientific approach, Pioneer Weston originates advanced elastomers and high performance engineered thermoplastics that unlock new performance possibilities.

Materials

Pioneer Weston offers a wide range of materials that are optimised to meet a variety of rotary seal applications. However, we can also provide specialist grades of these compounds to meet new industry trends and rotating equipment designs.

Pioneer Weston Elastomer Materials

NBR

N-70-18

Developed specifically for rotary seals, N-70-18 Nitrile grade is formulated to ensure excellent compatibility with mineral and synthetic oils and greases. By reducing friction compared to general purpose Nitrile grades, the Pioneer Weston proprietary grade enhances service life and performance across an operating temperature range between -35°C and 110°C.

FKM

V-75-27

V-75-27 FKM is a black A-type fluorocarbon that features the inherent oil and grease compatibility of NBR, but with increased suitability for higher speed, higher temperature applications. FKM has an operating temperature range of -20°C to 200°C.

HNBR

H-80-40

H-80-40 HNBR offers an improved abrasion resistance and operating temperature range compared to NBR, reliably performing between -40°C and 180°C. HNBR provides a long service life in extreme environmental conditions, which makes the material popular in off-highway applications.

Specialist grades

Pioneer Weston can offer grades of Polyacrylic that can be a competitive choice for Automotive applications, along with silicone materials for specific media compatibility requirements. For niche applications, ultra-low temperature resistant FKM’s and materials suitable for use with bio-fuels are also available. Pioneer Weston are happy to work with our customers on any material challenges they have.
